Having been the founding guildmaster of Freedom Rising, Vengeance Rising, and then Vindictive on the Bastion before transferring to the Harbinger, I know how much work it takes to put a quality guild together. Now, as a humble member of Unholy Alliance, I have realized very quickly how dwarfed my efforts as a guildmaster have been by the leadership of my new guild. This year’s Christmas Party is one of the many reasons, hosted last night at Jesinia’s Vacation Retreat on Tattooine on the Harbinger.
I didn’t stay for the entire party (all six hours of it, apparently), but I had a blast streaming the part for which I was present. I showed up fashionably late (at least that’s how I am pitching it) to the party room where everyone was hanging out in Teamspeak, dancing, and rubbing shoulders. They were playing a party music mix over Teamspeak that was really fun to listen to (though I’m sorry to my audience for having the Teamspeak balance turned way up in the stream -I wish someone had pointed that out to me earlier because I would have corrected it), and I recognized many public figures from the player community: Vulkk, R3DN4, Liu, Blachloch, and Jason Taylor among the very many others too many to name. I was sure to get as many selfies as I could with people I’ve come to enjoy knowing in the player community. Here’s a selfie or six!
After some “photobooth” opportunities that were just like family photos where you have to get crazy uncle Ralph to quit picking his nose, it was time to podrace! (I might have cheated a little bit. I’m not sure).
I hung out for a little while longer, and even somehow came away with a decent mount prize. Don’t even ask me how that happened, but I’ve always wanted one of these things so I am not going to complain!
I might also have dueled 3 times somewhere along the way with a success rate somewhere akin to being blasted in the face point-blank with a rubber bullet, but all-in-all the evening was just awesome. I had entirely more fun than I thought I would. Thank you to the Unholy Alliance/Wookiee Mistake leadership for planning an awesome event, and I can’t wait to be a part of it next year!
Also, I wanted to give Vulkk a special shoutout and thanks, not only for helping promote the event, but also for showing up at 3:00 a.m. his time in Bulgaria to be there. And, when he finally decided to turn in, he sent a handful of viewers my way -so I got to make some new stream friends. So thank you, Vulkk, for that. I appreciate all you do for the community, my friend.
