I am pleased to announce the next iteration of chat bot features for The Inner Sanctum, which will be launched the first stream in September! Ladydaney has been working extremely hard behind the scenes overhauling our chat bots, so I figured I’d give you a preview of some of the features.
Currently we have Z00M_Droid and Overseer_Harkun, both of which have different role-playing personalities and both of which provide certain features to the show. The problem is, chat has proven to be a bit bot-chatty, and new people can’t always discern that Overseer_Harkun, with his classic, salty attitude, is in fact a bot (i.e. he sometimes starts fights -which is actually pretty hilarious- and gets flagged regularly by Twitch’s anti-saltiness features).
So what we are going to do is kill Overseer_Harkun just as he deserves and go entirely with the ever-cheerful Z00M_Droid, whose name will be changed to ZeeyoOhm_Bot once the features launch. She will retain her personality and will be every bit as subtly ruthless as before.
So what about the features?
Credits & Monthly Prizes
Say goodbye to the !points command, and hello to !credits! Previously, viewers would be credited 1 points for every 5 minutes they hung out in the livestream and would gain extra points for tweeting about the show and using bot commands. The only benefit there was to accumulating points was getting your own bot command when you had accumulated 1000 points. Rest assured, those of you who have earned your own command will be grandfathered in and your commands will remain through the change -with the added benefit of being able to change your command if you’d like (be sure to chat with Ladydaney about that if you ever want to make a change). The point system, however, is being relegated to the slag heap of history faster than an unworthy acolyte at the academy on Korriban.
Instead, we will now be amassing credits, 10 for every 10 minutes we hang out in the stream, plus 50 for making our own tweets drawing attention to the show every time we are live (just be sure to tag @ladydaney_lee and me @iamsechari). At the beginning of the month, everyone will start with 0 credits and will amass them all month long. Then, at the end of the month, the one with the most credits will win the monthly prize -everything from cartel coin codes to tee-shirts, books, and other swag. So it pays to be present, it pays to tweet about the show, and it pays to use the other features to victimize the competition and get ahead at their expense!
Get ahead of the competition, you say? But how do I get ahead while leaving my fellow viewers in the dust? I’m glad you asked! There will be a number of new features, two of which are different kinds of betting. The first is initiated by the moderators for anything they choose like wipe counting or counting how many times the game will crash before a certain time. This kind of bet will have three rounds during which viewers will be able to chip in if they choose, putting increasing amounts of credits they have earned into the pot for each round they want to amend their guess with decreasing payouts for each round. The simple principle is that more risk equals more reward! So it pays to get it right as early as possible.
The second feature is a friendly bet between friends, !makeitinteresting. If you want to take someone on and “make it interesting”, just use the command and follow the bot prompts to challenge them to a friendly wager. If they agree to take part, you will decide on an amount you will each put into the pot, input the winner, and the winner takes the pot.
If someone in the stream is worthy of a reward, you can, at your leisure, tip them an amount of your choosing up to a predetermined maximum. Their account will be credited with the amount you choose to send them. This feature will be turned off as the end of the month draws near to stop viewers from undermining winners who are clearly superior to everyone else /SithSalute.
Yes, you read that right. You will now be able to challenge someone in chat to a duel. Just enter the !duel command and follow the prompts. It costs an amount up front to duel and the winner of the duel receives the pot. Dueling is turn-based and includes random features like being able to heal and critical strike. Every turn, a viewer will be able to pick one of three different options. The first is more guaranteed damage but less chance of critical strike. The second offers less damage than the first but more chance of critical strike -and more damage if the critical strike roll is successful. The third offers still more critical strike damage if the critical strike roll is successful, but less overall damage if it fails. So choose wisely.
Ladydaney is currently working on a breakdown of the features which will be posted as soon as it is ready, so be ready to compete for our monthly prize! May the Force serve you well.
