So I am desperately behind in catching up this website with all the things that have been going on since the first of the year. Usually I try to publish one post per PC Podcast or Council episode, but if I try to catch this website up that way, I will never get it all posted. So I figured I’d just do it in one huge post, and then we’ll pick back up after today.
So announcements first. Here’s what’s been going on in my world lately:
Face Roll Operations Team
I had elected not to stream my participation in Face Roll, an Unholy Alliance veteran mode operations team we’d been running for a couple months, because I was tanking and didn’t want to jeopardize my team’s success by dividing my attention. Unfortunately, the group is no longer running, so my schedule has opened up somewhat.
Speaking of schedules…
March Stream Schedule Published
A number of ongoing projects (plus the operations team I mentioned above) have had me wrapped up pretty tightly since the beginning of the year. As a result, I’ve gone a little lighter on streaming. But I believe we’re entering a month-long stretch where things will be a little more stable, so I decided to take the leap and publish a tentative schedule for the month of March. As always, it is subject to change depending on what comes up, but for now be sure to check out the schedule page if you’re interested in when and where I am intending on appearing.
The month of April is another story, I’m afraid, because I have another big life adjustment coming my way at the end of March. More on that as we draw nearer.
Passionately Casual Podcast Episodes
Corellian Run Radio has finally closed its doors after being the longest-surviving SWTOR podcast, underway since the launch of SWTOR. Moxys who was formerly serving exclusively as Passionately Casual Podcast’s producer, has now joined the cast as a regular host. JT was already a host of both shows and will continue on with PC as a host, but has also now assumed responsibility of running the show’s live media. I, in my humble fashion, have scaled back some just to writing post-production show notes. That’s right! That witty humor nobody reads is mine.
PC Podcast also welcomes Kid Lee to the lineup as a contributor and has increased its episode schedule from once monthly to twice monthly in addition to the odd impromptu episode plus live discussions while streaming through the odd operation or flashpoint. So standby because we have a lot of good content coming your way!
Here are the recent episodes that have been begging to be posted to my website:
The Council continues to flourish, and we’ve been seeing the steady growth of our show across the various media platforms: Live-recorded on Twitch every Monday night at 8 PM US Central (as is the proper design of the show), and via podcast and YouTube after the fact.
Typically by policy I only publish to this website episodes in which I have appeared (stay tuned to the show’s official website for the ones I don’t post here), and what follows are the recent episodes by that description:
- 20: Datamining and Exploits in SWTOR
This week The Council digs deep on datamining and exploiting in SWTOR: Definitions of each, how they measure up to the SWTOR terms of service, and a look at a number of the more prevalent bugs and exploits in the game throughout the game’s history.
- 21: Life Day Dance Off
Our first non-live, prerecorded episode ever, our Christmas-day episode gives us some time to do a year-in-review. We discuss what we felt were the highlights for BioWare and SWTOR for 2017, share our viewpoints on how the show is shaping up, and offer a guess or two as to what is coming for SWTOR in 2018.
- 22: New Year’s Resolutions
In our first episode of 2018, The Council sits down to talk about new year’s resolutions. What do we each want to achieve in the game this year? What new year’s resolutions would we hope would be on the board for BioWare?
- 24: Gearing in SWTOR
This week The Council gets together to discuss all of the complexities relating to end-game gearing, and to compare notes about attitudes. We were shocked this week at our poll numbers, showing just how many in our player community have at least one character with 248-rated gear, the highest tier of gear.
- 25: Crafting in SWTOR
Crafting has long been a complicated part of SWTOR. Everyone wants it to thrive, but it seems to compete directly with the Cartel Market. This week The Council sits down to think through crafting in SWTOR, how it’s doing, and how it might be improved.
- 26: Kotaku Article vs. SWTOR 6.0
This week The Council addresses a question that has been asked right from the very inception of the game: Is SWTOR dying? A recent Kotaku article caused quite a stir in the community, and we wanted to weigh in.
- 27: Conquest in SWTOR
This week, The Council gets together to discuss Conquest in SWTOR: What it is, what we think BioWare meant it to be, and what we think needs to happen to make it a central, driving mechanic in the game.
- 28: Story Design in SWTOR
This week The Council meets to talk about the evolution of story content in SWTOR. What was everyone’s favorite story era?
- 29: First Quarter Roadmap Review – 2018
This week The Council gathers to discuss BioWare’s recent first quarter, 2018 roadmap for SWTOR. We share not only our own takes on the roadmap, but discuss the community’s response as well.
You see what I mean? Far too much content to publish each of these as its own post. But now that it’s all out there, we can resume as if nothing had happened. Again, stay tuned. I’ve got a lot more coming your way!
